Sully

Smokin Sullys developed out of a love for backyard BBQ.  Through years of trial and error stretching back from high school I have strived for perfection in my craft.  Starting with backyard hamburgers before my after school job I went on to host Thursday night BBQ’s in college, learning from my best friend Dallas, until I started my career as a machine shop teacher.

As a machine shop teacher I worked with metal and hand built a custom 12 gauge and 14 gauge plate steel smoker weighing hundreds of pounds.  I became known in the neighborhood as "the BBQ guy" and was asked to cook for the neighborhood block parties.  It felt good to get compliments and recognition for something I was so passionate about.  Eventually, I started experimenting with more grills and smokers enjoying my hobby so much that my friends started telling me I should start selling my brisket, smoked chicken, pulled pork, brines and rubs.

My focus is on using fresh, local, sustainably sourced ingredients with recipes from scratch.  When possible, I always try to use the freshest local ingredients available creating limited seasonal flavors.
